The Lion

The Lion was used to symbolize the Majesty of the Roman people during the Roman Empire.

The Lion Head was mounted on most architectural structures at this time. Different versions can still be seen mounted on village fountains all over southern Europe and is used as an architectural detail on some British buildings to this day.
